The Dizi Insider ("we", "our", "us") is a weekly English-language editorial publication operated from Bursa, Türkiye. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to thediziinsider.com and our email newsletter.

1. Data Controller

For the purposes of KVKK and GDPR, the data controller (veri sorumlusu) is The Dizi Insider, an independent publication based in Bursa, Türkiye. Contact details for privacy matters are in Section 11 below.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

• Email address — when you subscribe to our newsletter.
• Replies and messages — when you reply to a newsletter or email us directly.

Information collected automatically

• Email engagement — opens, clicks, unsubscribes, tracked via our email provider (Beehiiv).
• Website analytics — anonymized page views, referrers, device type, and approximate location (country/region), via Cloudflare Web Analytics. We do not use tracking cookies for analytics.

3. Legal Basis for Processing (KVKK & GDPR)

Under KVKK Article 5 and GDPR Article 6, we process your personal data on the following bases:

• Explicit consent — when you voluntarily subscribe to our newsletter, you provide explicit consent (açık rıza) to receive our communications.
• Legitimate interest — basic analytics, fraud prevention, and the operation of our service.
• Legal obligation — when required by Turkish law or applicable foreign law.

4. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Deliver the weekly newsletter and related communications.
• Understand which articles and topics resonate with readers.
• Respond to your questions and feedback.
• Comply with legal obligations under Turkish and applicable international law.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your email address with advertisers or third parties for their marketing purposes.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We rely on the following processors (veri işleyenler) to run the newsletter:

• Beehiiv, Inc. (United States) — email delivery, subscriber management, and engagement analytics. Beehiiv's Privacy Policy.
• Cloudflare, Inc. (United States) — website hosting, email routing, and security. Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy commitments and contractual data processing agreements.

6. International Data Transfers

The Dizi Insider operates from Türkiye, but our service providers are located in the United States. Your data may therefore be transferred outside Türkiye and the European Economic Area. We rely on the following safeguards:

• Beehiiv and Cloudflare maintain GDPR-compliant data processing terms.
• Where applicable, transfers are made under Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
• Under KVKK Article 9, we transfer data abroad only with adequate safeguards or with your explicit consent.

7. Cookies and Tracking

Our website does not set tracking cookies. Email open and click tracking is performed by Beehiiv using standard email tracking pixels and link wrapping. You can disable email tracking by configuring your email client to block remote images.

8. Your Rights

Under KVKK Article 11, GDPR, and CCPA, you have the right to:

• Learn whether your personal data is processed (öğrenme hakkı).
• Request information about how your data has been used (bilgi talep etme hakkı).
• Access your personal data (erişim hakkı).
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data (düzeltme hakkı).
• Request deletion of your data (silme/yok etme hakkı), subject to legal retention requirements.
• Object to or restrict certain processing (itiraz hakkı).
• Withdraw your consent at any time, including by unsubscribing from emails.
• File a complaint with the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority (Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurumu, KVKK) at kvkk.gov.tr, or with your local data protection authority if you are in the EEA.

9. Data Retention

We retain your email address for as long as you remain subscribed. After you unsubscribe, we retain a minimal suppression record (your email, hashed) to ensure we don't accidentally re-subscribe you in the future. We retain data only for the duration required by Turkish law (Vergi Usul Kanunu retention periods may apply to commercial records) and our legitimate operational needs.

10. Children

The Dizi Insider is intended for readers aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the newsletter and reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
